Crochet Sophia Flower

Here's a wonderfully simple flower that is airy and lovely. It is incredibly easy and takes less than 20 minutes to whip up! I most recently used is for a headband for Anna's twins, Baylor and Blakely, to use in their photo shoot with TwoForTea Photography.

You  will need a small amount of yarn
and a 4 mm crochet hook. I used
Red Heart and Susan Bates Hooks.

1. Chain 11 and slip stitch into
the first chain to form a ring.
2. Chain up 3.

3. Double crochet 23 stitches
into the ring and slip stitch
into the top of your chain 3.
4. Chain 4, skip 2 stitches
and single crochet into
the third stitch. Repeat
until you reached your
initial chain 4, then slip
stitch into it.

5. Slip stitch into the chain
4 spot and chain up 3, double
crochet, and chain up 4, and
add two more double crochets.
Continue this way until you
hit the last loop.
6. Double crochet 7 stitches
into the ring. (No need to
chain 3 for your first stitch as
you normally would).

7. Slip stitch between the two
sets of double crochet. Continue
along till the end of your work.
8. Slip stitch between your very last
sets of double crochet, chain up 1,
pull your loop long, and cut that bad boy.

And there you have. The Sophia flower. Perfect applique for all of your wee mermaids, princesses, ballerinas, and divas. Hope you folks enjoy the pattern and happy hooking!
